As we look into the future, we do so with great hope and enthusiasm for our parish! With God’s blessing, a brighter future awaits our community.  Ascension Church’s purchase of the three buildings on Henry Street was completed on March 25, 2011 at a cost of over $1,330,000.
This property will not only satisfy our parking needs, but it will also allow us to expand our Greek School, community hall and gym facilities.
With the immense and commendable generosity of our parishioners and supporters, we have already raised the funds and paid off the mortgage!

In order to assist you in your consideration of a commitment to our appeal, we have various gift plans which should be within your means.  Suggested pledges could be spread out over several months or years at various increments or can be a lump sum contribution.  Please consider which plan best fits your budget.  Remember, this Capital Campaign is based on equal sacrifice, not equal giving…

Special Commitments

A heartfelt appeal is made to those parishioners to reflect on their ability to make a very generous pledge to the campaign.  We ask that those who are capable of making pledges of $20,000, $50,000, $100,000 or more lay the foundation of success for this appeal.

Matching Gift Opportunities

Many employers have matching gift programs that provide employees the opportunity to multiply their gifts to educational institutions, social organizations and health institutions.  We encourage everyone to inquire of their Human Resources Department regarding matching gift opportunities available to them.

Tax Advantages of Thoughtful Giving

Federal and state laws on income and inheritance taxes encourage charitable giving.  All annual contributions to our campaign are tax deductible for those who itemize their deductions.  It is particularly advantageous for some people to contribute appreciated securities.  If you choose to contribute appreciated securities held more than 12 months, you will receive double the tax benefit through the avoidance of capital gains, as well as receiving a charitable deduction equal to the fair market value at the time of the gift as opposed to the purchase.
